There is hereby levied on each and every sale in the town of electricity and metered
or bottled gas, natural or manufactured, a tax based upon the charge made by the seller
thereof as follows: five percent on each sale, which tax shall in every case be paid
by the purchaser for the use of the town to the seller of such electricity and metered
or bottled gas, natural or manufactured, at the time of paying the charge therefor,
but not less often than monthly.
