§ 1-11. Court cost assessed against persons convicted of ordinance violation.

  • (a)

    There shall be assessed, in addition to any fine or other penalty, $2.00 as a court cost against every person convicted for violation of an ordinance of the town, except that no such assessment shall be made against any person convicted for violation of any ordinance relating to the parking of vehicles, pursuant to F.S. § 938.15.

    (b)

    Assessments collected pursuant to subsection (a) of this section shall be expended for criminal justice education degree programs and training courses, including basic recruit training for law enforcement officers and support personnel of the town, provided such education degree programs and training courses are approved by the town commission. The town commission shall update, publish, and distribute semiannually to all employing agencies and criminal justice training schools, a list of approved programs and courses, including the name and location of the criminal justice training school offering each program or course.
