§ 10-1. County animal control ordinance adopted.

  • (a)

    The town commission hereby finds that the town is in need of animal control services for the residents, that the county provides animal control services similar to those needed by the town, and that the county has agreed to provide animal control services to the town and its residents upon adoption of the ordinance from which this section is derived. The town commissioners find that the adoption of the ordinance from which this section is derived is in the best interest of and serves the health, safety and general welfare of town residents.

    (b)

    Chapter 14 of the county Code is hereby adopted as an ordinance of the town and the mayor and other public officials of the town are hereby authorized to enter into such interlocal agreement as may be necessary between the town and the county to provide the services authorized by, and enforcement of, the ordinance from which this section is derived.
